Judy’s Florists and Radio Medford Gave Away

10,000 Free Roses and Collected the Equivalent of

13,706 lbs of Food during FTD Good Neighbor Day

GND Roses

Residents of the  Rogue  Valley had the unique opportunity to meet one another and develop new friendships as Judy’s Florists and Radio Medford hosted the annual FTD® Good Neighbor Day® event in their shops on September 1st, 2010. Residents received a dozen free roses when they stopped by Judy’s Central Point and Grants Pass Florist locations.

Judy’s distributed 10,000 Roses in bunches of a dozen, absolutely FREE to anyone who visited their shop, as a sign of friendship and goodwill. Established in 1994, FTD Good Neighbor Day has become an event dedicated to helping create a friendlier, more caring and compassionate world with flowers.

In addition to the rose give away, a food drive during the Good Neighbor Day event brought in the equivalent of13,706 pounds of food in cash donations and non perishables. Both Access and the Josephine County Food Bank participated in this Good Neighbor Day event.

“The success of FTD Good Neighbor Day was overwhelmingly positive as the people of  Rogue  Valley came out to participate and show their community spirit and support,” states Rick Samuelson Jr.  Folks came in from all over the valley and understood the theme behind Good Neighbor Day like never before.  Many participants knew the 11 people they were going to give roses to before they even picked up their dozen roses.  Stories are still coming in daily from people touched by the event.

Thank you to everyone who participated and especially to those who got the message out about “Good Neighbor Day”.  It would not have been near the success it was without your help.  We look forward to and hope to see you again for many Good Neighbor Days in the future.

LOCAL FLORISTS and RADIO STATIONS PLAN TO
GIVE AWAY 10,000 FREE ROSES FOR
FTD® GOOD NEIGHBOR DAY 2010

roses gnd 2

Residents of The Rogue Valley will have a unique opportunity to meet each other and develop new friendships when RADIO MEDFORD and Judy's Florist and Gifts host the annual FTD Good Neighbor Day event on Wednesday September 1st. Beginning at 8AM, Judy's Central Point Florist and Judy's Grants Pass Florist locations will give away 10,000 Roses in bunches of a dozen, absolutely FREE to anyone who visits the shop, while supplies last.  The last time we gave away 10,000 roses, they were all handed out in about 3 hours.

There is one catch, however. Judy's Florists and Radio Medford hope the goodwill is exactly that – "catching". Anyone who picks up a dozen free roses will be asked to keep only one of the flowers for themselves and to give the others away to 11 different people – spreading goodwill and friendship in the community.

In addition to FREE ROSES, Judy's will be accepting canned food to help local families through Access and the Josephine County Food Bank.  With every canned food donation on September 1st, Judy's will offer an entry to win a $100.00 Fresh Flower Arrangement from Judy's.

FTD Good Neighbor Day is being celebrated for the 16th year throughout the United States at participating FTD floral shops as a day of celebrating goodwill toward all people. Joining efforts with Judy's Florists are KCMX AM880, HANK FM, KLITE 102 FM and KBOY.  ACCESS and the Josephine County Food Bank are also pitching in to help make FTD Good Neighbor Day a truly successful and "neighborly" celebration here in the Rogue Valley. It is expected that hundreds of FTD Florists in North America will participate in this year's FTD Good Neighbor Day event, giving away millions of free flowers.
